Dothan Landscaping and Dothan Irrigation were created by one person with a vision that expanded as the years went on. Ron Franz, the owner has been serving the Dothan area for 32 years. He originally started off with a push mower placing a three dollar ad in the local paper. His intentions were to cut grass temporarily until a better job offer came along. You see, the country was headed into a recession, the interest rates were rising, and the economy began to slow down. His previous job was catering to new commercial job sites, factories and small businesses. He sold drinks & food items twice a day and made pretty good money at it too. It all came to an end when his construction stops dried up and layoffs became common news at the factories. As Dothan Lawncare prospered, Ron expanded his business to develop Dothan Landscape Co. as we entered the 80's. The lawncare business was eventually dropped in order to focus solely on the landscaping business. His new business prospered into the 90's but eventually was phased out to make room for his newest vision. The birth of Dothan Irrigation Co. Ron entered an industry that required knowledge of hydraulics, irrigation and landscape design, basic electricity and plumbing. He has taken all the required courses, attended Toro University, earned several diplomas plus attends with his employees all irrigation seminars whenever they are offered. Ron has accomplished all his goals and has excelled to be the most informed and technical installer in the area. His expertise includes well pump connections to new and existing systems, adding electrical booster pumps to increase pressure, installing custom designed systems large and small, making custom changes to sprinkler systems to accommodate new additions such as landscaping, buildings or pools. Let us not forget that Dothan Irrigation also designs and installs successful drain tile & French drains. Ron's employees are well informed on the latest techniques, the newest products and installation procedures. We are licensed locally and state wide, bonded, and protected with workman's comp. and liability insurance. Job references are offered upon request.
