There are several questions
you should ask any irrigation contractor that you are considering to hire, whether it is us or somebody else:
1. Are you licensed to install, repair or add to an irrigation system in my town?. Will you show proof of your license and permit before starting?
2. Do you carry Workman's Comp. and Liability Insurance? Will you show proof before starting the job?
3. May I see a list of references showing names, addresses, and phone numbers so I can view and or ask your customers about your work?
4. Will you provide a detailed plan of my Sprinkler System showing pipe sizes, location of the heads and property lines?
5. How long is your warranty and what does it cover? Will you have a warranty sheet from your Company showing what it covers?
6. Will your design cover the complete yard with head to head coverage and with no dry spots?
7. Will you guarantee that each sprinkler zone will have adequate pressure to allow my sprinkler heads to reach their necessary distance?
8. Will you install the proper 18 gage multi-jacketed direct burial wire needed to carry the correct voltage to the control valves?
9. Will you install a controller that is easy to understand and can be
programed to water on the correct days if restriction is enforced ?
10. Will you tell me if I need to have a meter upgrade to accommodate the sprinkler system and my home at the same time?
11. Will you install a separate cutoff valve for the Irrigation System so I can still have running water to my home if the system ever needs service?
12. Will you install an automatic Rain Gage so the system will shut down when rain occurs?
13. Do you size your Sprinkler head nozzles for quarter, half, 3-quarter and full to obtain equal precipitation?
14. How deep will you trench for the sprinkler lines and what will my yard look like when you are done? [ minimum deph of pipe 8"]
15. What sizes and what pressure will the PVC pipe be? A good system will have several sizes of pipe according to the water source. Class 160 or 200 PVC pipe is normal, Schedule 40 PVC pipe is for heavy duty use.
16. Will each sprinkler head have funny pipe attached to it to allow for flexability and protection from heavy vehicles driving over it?
